Ifigeneia Mavridou presents at International Conference in Virtual Reality

On 20th March 2019, Centre for Digital Entertainment Research Engineer Ifigeneia Mavridou gave a lecture on the first day of the International Conference in Virtual Reality, at the Laval Virtual, in Laval, France. The lecture was titled ‘Emerging Affect Detection Methodologies in VR and future directions’ which received a lot of interest and triggered discussions as the area of emotion detection in Virtual Reality is still in its early stages. The Laval Virtual Conference and exhibition was running for the 21st time this year and gathered 20,000 visitors which makes it the largest immersive technologies event in the world, dedicated to VR/AR/MR (https://www.laval-virtual.com/). Every year the Laval Virtual takes place in Laval, France which offers more than 10 buildings around the town to serve as hosts for the various organised events of the conference and the artistic exhibition, where fine arts and immersive technologies are combined to create new forms of expression.
