Funding byNemodehas enabled us to price the event modestly (£25)to allow a wide range of aspiring women digital entrepreneurs to attend. We have some amazing speakers and digital academics and coaches taking part, including Josephine Goube of Girls in Tech, Anne-Marie Imafidon of the Stemettes, professor Patrice Braun of Australia and Lyndsey Britton, founder of Campus North, among others.
We also have a limited number of travel stipends for PhD students, or for those interested in undertaking a PhD, but who can’t get funding from their universities to attend. For more information, interested parties can email [email protected]. Maximum capacity at the event is 70.

Abstract: Language exists in a constant flux: existing in the duality of social structure and the actions of the agents with the system. As a result, new words come and go from
people’s vocabularies – e.g. the recent introduction of `e-cig’ and `vape’. However the work required to identify these âinnovationsâ is both time consuming and
subjective. This talk therefore explores the variation in language, and in particular language innovations that occur in and across multiple online social networks (innovations
could be a change of spelling to the introduction of new words), and how such investigations can be performed at scale.

The Science and Engineering Fast Stream is the flagship postgraduate development scheme for scientists and engineers across Government â and it needs people like you.
Science and Engineering Fast Streamers take on a range of roles in multiple government departments, and play an essential role in ensuring the best science underpins the development and application of government policies. This can be by acting as an expert customer, or by developing an evidence base or by undertaking systematic analysis. Science and Engineering Fast Streamers are not bench scientists or technical engineers. Instead, they source, analyse and communicate technical advice and innovative solutions on issues as diverse as climate change, nuclear non-proliferation, defence technology and food production.

12th European Conference on Visual Media Production CVMP 2015 â will take place at the British Film Institute in London 24 â 25th November 2015.
