EngD student John Tredinnick who works with the National Trust will be at the Cheltenham Science Festival with his Discovery Dome, an inflatable dome with a 360 degree projection screen that uses gaming technology to bring the past alive.

Visitors to this free activity will be able to take control of a chariot, compete against friends and dodge gladiators in a virtual reality race.

John is also leading two workshops to talk about and demonstrate the popular Google Cardboard that allows users to experience virtual reality in a simple, fun, and affordable way.

Owen O’Neill who works with Salisbury Hospital on stroke rehabilitation will be in the Discover Zone with the EPSRC. The theme is Future Living: Future Life. Visitors will be able to find out how regular games consoles could hold the key to helping stroke sufferers get active again.
